Pip consultation.

Hi everyone,

I hope you have all enjoyed a pain free sunny day today ?

I wanted to celebrate that at last I have my pip consultation meeting next Friday 5th. June. I am a bit nervous as I don't know what to expect.

Have any of you got any advise on Pip consultation meetings?

It's not as bad as u think actually I was really nervous but the lady that did it was lovely very understanding , I took plenty of paperwork but she didn't ask to c it was in there for 40 mins don't be nervous just be yourself and tell them exactly how ur feeling I had. Mine 2week ago this Tuesday still haven't heard anything yet 😔but they say no news is good news hope it goes ok Hun keep me updated x

Hiya, its easy to say dont be nervous, but it is nervewracking, i was very nervous for mine, i also had a lovely lady, i would say be yourself, speak the truth, and just express fully how yr illness affects you in every aspect of your life, how it makes you feel, what you can and cant do, it will be over before you know it, and if you have brain fog like me then make a note for yourself to make sure you dont forget anything, (wish we could forget it i hear you say). No need to worry at all ,iv done it all and pasted I took my daughter with me as like all you ladies a bit nervous .The medical went well and had a very nice women who made me at ease .good luck .

Hi I have. Been lucky I have had four assessments and each time I have had a lovely lady.Just be yourself, say how it affects you from day to day.I said I have good and bad days some days getting up and dressed is enough. Try not to worry they are not out to trick you, good luck 😊

Hiya heathersmum. From my experience do be aware that your assessor watches you from the moment she/he calls you through to the room where the assessment is done. Mine considered that because I "can walk" (ha!) the 15 metres to the room that I can walk, as the descriptor says, for 200 metres. This isn't the case but I didn't have any written medical evidence at that time to back up my responses to her so she marked me down & I failed the mobility component. I got worked up the day before my assessment which I needn't have done really as apart from mobility she understood my limitations & I was awarded enhanced rate daily care. I do understand though, it's like an exam & I was always nervous the days leading up to those too.

Good luck for next Friday, tell it how it is & let us know how it went. All experience is helpful for the ones considering applying for PIP or waiting for their assessment.
