Methotrexate

I am coming off methotrexate it's now two weeks and every part of me hurts plus I feel bloated all over and my head feels like I'm having a adrenaline rush has anyone had the same reaction on coming off this drug.

I had a hiatus of 3 months whilst waiting to have my RD meds reinstated when I returned to the UK from living abroad & within 3 weeks I had terrible problems. I was awfully swollen, in places I'd not had even at diagnosis & my head felt as though it would explode some days. Obviously I react well to MTX & this was my body reacting to being without it.

Have you had a reaction to it & needing to reduce it? Just with you saying coming off it & it's now 2 weeks, usually we're just stopped.

Hi I had to stop because of a bad reaction and I start on Leflunomide on the first of April.

I do feel sorry for people who's disease reacts well to MTX but don't tolerate it. It's like a lifeline's handed to them & then it's snatched away. I hope LEF works as well for you.

I had a bit of a rough time when I stopped Mtx .... but it didn't last. Though I am on Humira. Are you taking anything else?

Hi yes I'm starting on Leflunomide on the 1st of April I have to wait until then as I am having an operation on the 27th of this month.

A very weird thing happened when they took me off MTX due to high liver readings. At first a few of my fingers became disfigured - almost immediately after I stopped it. But then I went into a remission - for 4 years. It was as though the detox was some kind of relief for my body. I don't know why/how it happened. Anyway I am back on it again now!
