Please find details of the NRAS group meetings taking place next week:

NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 16th March 2015

Medway NRAS Group

This group meet at the Medway Health Staff Social Club at Medway Maritime Hospital, Windmill Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 5NY bi-monthly on a Monday from 7:00pm-9:00pm.

16th March - Fundraising Social Event: Race Night - Please bring your friends and family to this fun evening!

Swansea NRAS Group

Meetings are held at Sketty Parish Centre, De La Beche Road, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 9AR on a Monday from 7:30pm-9:00pm. Car parking adjacent and full disabled access.

16th March - Laura Wetherly, Government Affairs Officer at NRAS: 'Welfare Benefits'

Yeovil NRAS Group

The Yeovil NRAS group have a new meeting location! 2015 meetings are to be held at: The Studio Ninesprings Clinic, 70 Hendford, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 1UR. Parking available at rear, side and front of the building. Tina and Elaine co-ordinate this group and meet on the third Wednesday of every other month from 7:30pm.

18th March - Fire Safety Officer – ‘Safety in the Home’

St Helens NRAS Group

The group meets every other month in Room 8 at St Helens Town Hall, Victoria Square, St Helens, WA10 1HP from 6.30pm to 8pm. There is a free car park at the back of the Town Hall and disabled access via a lift to the left of the front steps.

18th March - 'Independent Living Aids' by Paul McQuade from Ableworld

Wrexham NRAS Group

2015 meetings will be held monthly on the third Wednesday at Tesco Wrexham, Crescent Road, Wrexham, LL13 8HF from 7:00-8:30pm. (Please make your way to the customer service desk where someone will be on hand to direct you to the room).

18th March - Tai Chi Instructor Joan will give a demonstration that all will be able to join

Salford NRAS Group

The first meeting of the Salford NRAS group will take place in the Café area of The Angel Centre, 1 St Philips Place, Salford, M3 6FA (on street disabled parking located directly outside the Angel Centre, plus parking tokens available from reception for free car park round the back (28 spaces). Plenty of free parking after 6pm on roads behind the Angel), please see full details below:

18th March - 6:30pm-8:00pm - Guest speaker Dr. Beverley Harrison, Consultant Rheumatologist will present 'What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?'

Blackpool NRAS Group

Blackpool and District NRAS Group (BADRAG) meet in the cafeteria at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, Lytham St. Annes, FY8 1PB from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on the third Thursday of alternate months.

19th March - Vicky, Occupational Therapist and Angela, Nurse Practitioner: ‘Self Management of RA

North Durham NRAS Group

The group meets 4 times a year at All Saints Catholic Church, Kitswell Road, Lanchester, DH7 0JH on a Thursday from 7:00pm-9:00pm. There will also be a raffle and refreshments at the meetings.

19th March - Guest speaker Professor Namita Kumar will present on 'Cardiovascular Risk'

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!

York is nearest to me but that's at least an hours drive away. Must look for more local groups than that on other sites.

That's a shame. I have the option of two, my nearest is less than 10 mins away & the other is 30 mins. There won't be any other NRAS groups but I suppose you could ask your Rheumy team if they have a support group or know if there are any nearer to you?
