NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 9th March 2015

Great Yarmouth NRAS Group

The Great Yarmouth & Waveney NRAS Group meet in the ‘Buzz Room’ of the Louise Hamilton Centre, James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 6LA from 5:30pm-7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Upcoming guest speakers are as follows:

10th March - Dane Lawrence from East Cost Mobility - A local mobility company offering advice and help to everyone in need in Norfolk and Suffolk. Their mission is to ‘enhance the lives of the less able’

Oxford NRAS Group

Meetings are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford OX3 7LD on Tuesdays every second month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Look for the NRAS direction posters to the room.

10th March - Lesley Nell, Therapist: 'Complementary Therapies'

Southend-on-Sea NRAS Group

Thelma co-ordinates this NRAS group. Meetings take place bi-monthly at the Salvation Army Citadel (opposite Morrisons), 146-148 London Road, Hadleigh, Essex, SS7 2PF on a Tuesday. Please see below for meeting times.

March 10th 2:00pm – 3:30pm - Guest speaker Oliver Hoare, Fundraising Manager at NRAS will be giving an update on the work of the charity

Surrey NRAS Group

This group meets at St. Francis Church Hall, 121 Upper Chobham Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU15 1EE bi-monthly on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Meetings are open to anyone living with RA, JIA and inflammatory arthritis.

10th March - Guest speakers: New Heights - specialists in musculoskeletal conditions. Our speaker for the evening will be discussing holistic therapies, including massage and how they can help towards our physical and emotional needs. There will also be a short session on relaxation.

Worcester NRAS Group

Bi-monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm at the Lyppard Hub in Ankerage Green, Warndon Village, Worcester WR4 0DZ.

11th March - Guest speaker: Sheila Reynolds, Osteoporosis Nurse

Weston-super-Mare NRAS Group

This group meets monthly on a Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Asda Community Centre, Asda Stores Ltd, Phillips Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3UZ.

March 11th - Dr Mary Backhouse, ‘A Brief Outline of North Somerset CCG’

Colchester NRAS Group

This group meet on the second Thursday of every other month at the St. John's Church Community Centre, St. John's Close, Colchester CO4 0HP (parking available on site) from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

12th March - 'Moving forward' - Your chance to have your say about the care and support available locally

Heart of England (Solihull) NRAS Group

This NRAS group meets on the second Thursday of every other month at Broomfield Hall, Union Road, Solihull B91 3DH (The British Legion) from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

12th March - 'Biologics' by Phil Richardson, Biologics Support Nurse (Biologics Specialist Support Team) from Healthcare at Home

Gwent NRAS Group

The next meeting of the Gwent NRAS group is to be held in the meeting room (top floor, lift available) at Caerphilly Library, The Twyn, CF83 1JL. Each meeting has a guest speaker followed by discussion, information and then a social chat over a cuppa.

Saturday 14th March - 1pm-3pm - Carol Young will be doing a session on 'Laughter for Health' (participation voluntary but almost inevitable!)

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
