Hi Peggy sorry to hear your felling down. I've was diagnosed years ago and have been on MTX for all of them. I'm not saying it's the cure all, but it worked for me. I do still have flares , and discomfort. I just look at it this way there is a lot of people that sound as if they are worse off. I tried steriods but they don't suit everyone. My daughter won't take them as they make her very moody. She has to control her temper when taking them. I put on a lot of weight and also suffered with cushions. I have never had the other tablets, so can't help there.

Hope you feel better soon , sending you hugs

Chris

Hi

I tried both sulphalazine and methotrexate - unfortunately I couldn't tolerate them so I was put on leflunomide. For me it's been really good. I tolerate it well and flares have been kept to a minimum compared to no meds. It really is a case if trial and error for which meds suit unfortunately. At the beginning I had a course of steroids to help reduce the inflammation. I now find a steroid depomedrone injection (into the rear) is really helpful when needed.

Good luck with your meds, and remember to persevere if the first doesn't suit you.

All the best Sophie
