Yes, but you will need a covering letter from your gp or other doctor if you need to take injections with you. M x

Yep and the delivery company will give you a cool box and an accompanying letter.

Thank you, so much stuff to take in when travelling with new drugs. Nobody mentioned this in the clinic.

I fly a lot and I am on anti Tnf. You will need to get a letter on nhs headed paper in order to take your injections through security. I git one from the Rheumatology clinic at the hospital, if you ask your gp they will charge you but the hospital didn't.

I bought a mini cool bag which fits the syringes and 2 cool blocks.

Have the letter reader at security, shie it to them and make sure you leave time to go to one side while they take it out and swab it all for chemical residues.

Often the flight attendants will put the jabs in a fridge whilst on the flight, depending in who you are flying with (BA have been excellent).

Hope this helps

It doesn't need to be Nhs headed paper, as it's not the Nhs that deliver it to you,

HaH or any other company deliver as you will know, and as crashdoll says they will supply you with a coolbox and also the covering letter, it's not something to worry about as since I have been on Anti Tnf I have flown a few times and not once did they ask what it was. The first time I flew with it I made a point of showing it at security and they were happy as they knew what they were, but it's needed just incase. Just don't let it be a big thing :)

Sorry Sneezy28 dont mean to sound dismissive of you reply if it sounds that way :)

Thank you Iain,

Rheuma clinic didn't mention once about travelling with the stuff. Always rely on you guys on here to get the answers needed.

sorry you must have gotten missed somehow as generally the people who do your injection training when you fist start your meds are the ones that tell you about travel with your medications, there is also usually lots of pamphlets with the start up kit, also you can go to the medications website (all the biologists have their own websites) and you can get handy and helpful facts, including travel info for your particular medication.

I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with travel, but I think I would double check too, just to make sure you got everything in order. I haven't traveled via plane yet with my meds, but from reading the comments above it doesn't seem like its a huge hassle, sounds like the medical letter is most important.

Good luck in your travels!

In addition to all the good advice alresdy given I also email the travel company before I go to let them know I will be carrying sharps, and don't worry the ice pack doesn't count as a liquid so can be over the 100mls limit as long as your letter states it needs to be kept cool
