No VAT

I desperately need a new mattress and I have been told you can get this VAT free cost we have a chronic illness - an upside and there isn't many - has anybody done this or knows to go about it please x Also got my first appt to discuss biologics next week very nervous but excited as well x happy new year x

The is VAT relief on some goods for the diabled and chronically ill, but this is limited to specific items and it's the shop that sells it to you that organises the VAT relief, rather than you claiming a refund afterwards.

Here's the link to the guidance document, but it seems to suggest that only electrical and adjustable beds are eligible - not just mattresses. But maybe the best thing is to ask a local bed supplier as they're the ones who do it.

I always tell suppliers when i buy anything for my health that i have a chronic disease and thy take the vat off straight away.xxxx
