suffering a bit today,,
7 grandchildren, I'm so envious! I keep telling my children it's about time I had a grandchild. I hope you had a lovely time and I'm sure the pain was worth it. Did you drive all that way yourself? That's a long way with RA, well done x
hi yes im very lucky 1 grandaughter 13 next wk and 6 grandsons 10 and under lol love them all so much,,yes drove there myself takes about 1hr 20 mins its all motorway which wasnt very nice coming back it was windy raining and dark,,x
Oooo, not surprised you're suffering a bit flowers. I will do short trips now we've changed to an automatic but though I will do motorway I dislike it, more because of the people who hog the middle lane. It winds me up & I can feel myself getting tense, so much so that my shoulders are stiff & usually have a headache when I reach my destination. If I go into the city to shop I prefer to drive another quarter of an hour & go through the towns rather than take the motorway! My h thinks I'm daft lol!
Will you be seeing your grandchildren & family over Christmas or was that your trip to take pressies? Tripping up & down the motorway in the weather we're having can't be nice. I had to drive my f-i-l's car home last night as our car had been in the BM garage & the weather was atrocious down the prom. The windscreen wipers would hardly cope & the waves started to breach the sea wall the closer to home I got!
i hate middle lane drivers too but dont mind motorway driving too much as got used to it while my daughter was at uni then it was a 280 mile round trip but luckily she doing her masters in Bristol now so catches the bus,Took my daughters 3 little boys there presents as wont see them now till after christmas but my son his wife and four grandchildren will be down either boxing day or christmas day ,x
Oh that's good, & nice! It was just I'm very aware (particularly so this year because we lost my m-i-l in Feb) that we witter on about Christmas & sometimes forget that there are those who'll be on their own & was hoping you weren't one of them! Fortunately my f-i-l will be with us & anticipate we'll have tears but hoping we can turn them to laughter.
What is your daughter doing her masters in?
I know its sad that some people are alone this time of year im lucky ive got wonderful family and friends,,my daughter got a degree in psychology and doing her masters cant remember what the course is, she wants to go into schools and help adolescents with suicidal self harming and psychological problems ,
What a worthwhile degree! I hope all goes swimmingly for her & her continued studies. My h often says they give degrees for sawdust platting nowadays but that just proves him wrongdoing lol! It's awful what goes on in some of their young heads nowadays isn't it? I don't remember anything like that going on around me when I was that age. x
