Hiya bigmommy. Whenever we talk about shoes we all seem to have different needs & I think it'll depend on yours. I've found Fly Flots suit my feet best as I feel every stone in any other type of sole. The inner leather foot bed moulds to your foot shape, the soles are very squishy & the majority of them have Velcro fastenings, so much easier to adjust for that necessary support. Pavers sell them but I've also bought off eBay, though you have to ensure that they're listed as new otherwise the foot bed will have moulded to the sellers foot!

No doubt others will share their their faves with you so you can form a list of which to try.

Hi, I can only wear the cushion walk which is annoying at 49 but they are very very comfortable.very flexible sole and soft like glove leather x

If you cant find any at the shops that fit you can get a pair made for you at the hospital. They noticed that I was wearing croc flip flops with my big toe joint hanging off the side of the flip flop and it was winter. It was their suggestion.

At least you know the option is there.

Skechers - the best shoes I've ever had. Have to get used to them being a bit 'bouncy' but so comfortable don't want to take them off. But it will depend on how you feel in them. Like a lot of others with RA I keep throwing out shoes that appeared comfortable in the shop but then couldn't wear for any length of time.

Thank you so much I was thinking sketchers have been told they come up a bit big tho x,,

Footwear is a big bug bear for lots of people with RA. I wear new balance trainers all the time. They have a special range to go along side the special insoles I had made by my rheumatology podiatrist. I would ask your rheumy or nurse to refer you to a rheum podiatrist for advice. Mine are very experienced and knowledgeable and the insoles have helped my foot pain. I'm in Leeds. Hotter shoes are also comfy and popular with people with sore feet as are Clark's.
