Morning Terrpist. This sounds like OA to me. I have the same & my Rheumy has confirmed it's OA in my knee. If you sit back in a chair, raise your leg to horizontal & slowly lower it does it judder?
Mine does this and I have wear and tear but also the tendons make a snapping sound . .even if no pain.
