Had a few heavy days cut down to 50mg Instead of 100mg and wasn't to bad today. This afternoon don't know we're put my legs and can't stop yawning.

Still on 100mg at night but suppose 50mg less In the morning I am getting there :)

Long journey but sure it will be worth it to me.

You're at the beginning of the end victoriablue. The first step's been taken & with your GP's help & your determination to come off them you'll get there. I'm sure you know this but it must be difficult, particularly in the early stages of withdrawal so sending subliminal support as well as this message! :)

Thank you nomoreheels keep you updated.

Seen a different doctor so much more understanding and what I learned about it helped :) x

More along the lines of reality I take it then?! Think more should be that way & pretty sure you feel the same. Well done you for persevering. x

Don't envy you with the withdrawals. I've just done it (again) with codeine and it wasn't nice. Right now I'm toughing out the pain through heat and ice packs and paracetamol, and boosting my stretching exercises (I have AS).

Don't reduce too fast though - a lot of meds they say two weeks at each dose level before reducing further, but folk get frustrated and reduce faster then have problems with either rebound (where they end up needing more again), or withdrawal effects. A very long withdrawal from any addictive med is going to give you the very best chances of staying off it.

Hi earth watch thank you for your reply and advice.

I am sure I won't be rushing it as it's 4 days now and only dropped half strength once a day still getting the affects of that.

The one I am really worried about is the evening one as forgetting taking one a couple of times I had no sleep with it. But I hope to get there even if it takes weeks :) thanks again Rose

Just spotted your post. I have been taking Tramadol and Dihydrocodeine for a long time due to multiple operations and severe back pain. I am coming to the end of my ops and maybe something will be done with the back pain so I am soon going to be trying to cut down on both of these meds.

I will go to my GP for advice but thanks for posting your journey. I have found also that if I try to cut down on my evening dose I do not sleep well.
