Morning all, I'm sure this has been previously covered at some point but with temperatures set to rise to maybe over 30 degrees over the next few days, how to store Metoject?
It says to store below 25 degrees but not to refrigerate. H@H are due to deliver today so I'm going to have too many to store in a Frio bag ..what does everyone else do please, this is my first summer on Metoject.

Good morning, the following came from Victoria at NRAS last summer.
Due to the unusually high temperatures across the UK at the moment, Medac Pharmaceutical company have had quite a lot of calls from people who were concerned that their Metoject injectable methotrexate had gone above room temperature. They have therefore passed this statement on to us:
"Metoject syringes should be stored at or below 25°C. If room temperature is likely to be higher than 25°C, especially during this current hot spell or if the patient goes abroad on holiday, it is best to store Metoject in the refrigerator (2–8°C). The patient should remove the syringe from the refrigerator about 30 minutes prior to injection, to allow the solution to return to room temperature."

Please can you let me know how best to store the Methotrexate tablets in such hot temperatures as flat is very warm, it will get worse over the next few days. Grateful for your advice please?
I'm probably going to be the odd one out in replying here as my experience is from abroad where we had continually hot summers. I had to collect my MTX weekly as there you're not allowed to store MTX in the home even under lock & key was what I was informed so always collected mine the day before injecting from an air conditioned pharmacy back to a home without air con & just kept it in the coolest part of the house till the following morning with absolutely no problems. I was informed this was fine to do but I think with our summers, by comparison, a few days of warm weather won't affect the MTX. If you feel happier put it in a cool box or take the temp in the coolest part of your house & store it there until the worst of the heat subsides which going off the weather report this morning will only be a couple of days tops.

u have to take all ten?? lol!! im yukky, tired, sore and got a virus i think!! insulin though is making a huge difference and think the orencia is helping a bit? but steroid jab definatley helped !! xxx
Houses in hot climates tend to be built for heat, unlike some UK ones that turn into ovens as soon as temperature rises even a fraction. I keep a thermometer in the house, and if the temperature approaches 25 then I pop my Mectoject in the larder which stays cooler. I'm sure a few hours here or there won't make much difference, but since I have 12 weeks of syringes at a time I have to keep them in good condition for months.
