hey you have pubmed access!! I think it will take a lot of evidenced based and valid and repeatable studies before they will agree to cannabiloids or marajuana for RA. !!

ps if you get time can you find anything on fibroblastic rheumatoid disease, i dont have pubmed access anymore and maybe message me, thanks Axx

The articles on PubMed can be lengthy, but this one attempts to explain and suggest a treatment for FR. If you want more of the in-depth articles, just let me know. I would send the links, but I don't know if you'd be able to access them if you can't access PubMed?

Good clinical response to methotrexate treatment in a patient with fibroblastic rheumatism.

Paupitz JA1, de Carvalho JF.

Author information

Abstract

Fibroblastic rheumatism (FR) is a rare disease first described by Chaouat (in Rev Rhum Mal Osteoartic 47:345-351, 1980) and is characterized by a combination of rheumatologic and dermatological manifestations. Rheumatologic features are symmetrical polyarthralgias with joint stiffness, associated with cutaneous nodules and sclerodactyly. Histology shows an increased number of fibroblasts and a marked dermal fibrosis. A large number of treatments have been tried, but all of them have shown an unpredictable effect on FR. We report a Brazilian case of FR showing a good clinical response to methotrexate treatment. This drug may be considered an effective treatment in FR.

Yes unfortunately due to FRD now retired on ill health, doc wants me to avoid any herbal help to see if the Orencia works and if no improvement will add methotrexate back in the mix but as I'm not very tolerant of it, we are going slow. Seeing hand specialists again on Thursday and waiting or radiotherapy to try shrink some of the more disabling fibromas on hands. But would love to be more informed but not much on this more rare variation of RA on normal sites ! Thanks for your help, I had heard mtx in the mix might help xx

Found some papers on it by JA Paupitz by googling his name. One on a Chinese lad with FRD , he has less swelling and pain than me and from the photos my fibromas are more extensive but very interesting to read it ! Thanks for the authors name xx

It seems to me that the more we get involved with learning of our diseases, the better we will be for it.

I agree with that. If you understand it, it can help you cope I feel xx

Funny - if this stuff came from the dandelion for example, no one would give a damm. The adverse effects may make it a less than ideal treatment. I know somewone with cancer who has refused all chemo/radiotherapy and is using this oil instead because they believe all the hype. :( I do think more research should be made into repeated flu jabs and triggering RA though.
