I am always asking for something I know! Sorry!. It's just that I took the second dose Friday and since then I have had diarrhoea and nausea and now this horrid nagging pain in my right hand side mostly in the back. Feels like it could be stomach but now thinking liver...........?

Any suggestions.

Thank you Allanah, was wondering if anyone else had experienced flank pain. But already decided to go to GP as it is troublesome. x

Hello

Whatever the problem you are taking MXT so have words with your RA Nurse on the phone. If that proves negative see one of your GP s and be checked over.

Most of your problems could be the DMARD, although the pains in the back could be something else if in doubt approach the medics with this one

BOB

You ought to speak to the prescriber.

Re the nausea, have you tried taking the mtx before you go to sleep? Some people find that helps with the nausea

What dose are you on, are they checking your bloods.

I am currently feeling as though I am going cold turkey and yet I have been on the same dose for 12 weeks.

I am seeing the docs on Tuesday and you need to too

Sorry you're not feeling well. Maybe two things going on. Maybe reaction to mess and maybe kidney infection? Either way uve decided right to get medical help. Hope all settles soon.

I'd guess kidney infection - that is one of the biggest causes of flank pain. But, you do need to see your doctor. If possible, take along a urine sample at the same time and they can dip stick it on the spot. Are you drinking enough water? Good idea to drink a bit more with the MTX

My first three weeks on MXT were a nightmare - I hardly left the bathroom at times. Are you drinking enough? I had to make sure I stayed fully hydrated.

The MXT has been brilliant for my RA, however I have now switched to injections rather than tabs and most of the nauseau, tummy cramps, diahorrea (sp) etc have reduced massively.

Best talk to your care providers. Good luck and hang on in there x

I had a lot of stomach issues when I first started mtx pain in stomach, round liver and kidneys but no sickness. It did all calm down after the 2nd week and not had any problems since But do check with your Dr as I did. I take my tablets at night in case of nausea. Hope it settles for you

I took my MTX at night first off, but still felt sick. Some online googling suggested with a meal ideally containing protein. I now take it with my meal and seem to be OK.

I get pains sometimes on my right side, not every week but this week seems to be bad for side effects- nausea, depression, generally feeling rough, diarrhoea, various internal pains. I'm getting pains on my right side after I eat at the moment. I'm pretty sure it is just the MTX being evil.

I get it also after eating. Sounds like a MXT thing. Thanks for answering.
