This usually happens in a morning but lasts all day, nothing seems to help. Ive also been experiencing pain in the muscles in my upper arms to the point where i cant move them, does anyone else experience this too?? getting frustrated now!
Does anyone else suffer with pins and needles?? - NRAS
Does anyone else suffer with pins and needles??
Oh yes! I found out though that it wasn't from my shoulder joint as i had thought was being inflamed but from slipped discs in my neck and they were trapping nerves thus the pins and needles.
But it is something to defo talk to the doc about as you may need to be examined. Hope it eases soon as it's just not nice! Axx
oh god!! i have an appointment with my gp in a few days so will mention it to him then. how did you get yours sorted? x
Oops max didn't mean to worry you! Of course there's lots of other causes maybe swelling , vitamin deficiencies etc etc. RA!!
I had an op and have been brilliant since, but don't stress and I am sorry to have unintentionally worried you, but yes do talk to him about it, sometimes just pain causes irritation and pins and needles but yeah I would ask and then he can see what he thinks is causing it all for you. Will you let me know what they say ? Xx
hi i get this and my arms kill me its all part of it im afraid rhuemy conultant dosnt seem intersed in my arm though stick with it hun sorry you in pain
Could be to do with circulation, so its worth seeing the Dr. A nurse once advised me to drink tonic water (sans gin) apparently the quinine helps the tingling.
I get them too , is yours just in your arms ? I get them all over the place , it's horrible. going to mention it at next appointment but I figure it must be something to do with the inflammation. no answers I'm afraid to relieve it but will try the tonic water , if not will try the gin ( joking.. I think ! ) x
Yes I get them on and off everywhere for over a year now. I think it's a mixture of circulation issues and nerve compression and other mixed connective tissue stuff for me. You should get your B12 levels checked if you haven't already. RArebird.
HI... Like Allanah, because of those symptoms I always know when there is compression in my neck (Ive had 3 ops to fuse C4-T1) but the symptoms can also fit carpal tunnel so the last bout of new pins and needles accompanied by weakness and sharp twingy pains in the muscles was from that.
Carpal Tunnel is very common in sufferers of RA so its worth telling the doc - she might get an EMG to include or exclude it.

Hello .Yes I understand your plight I have had constant pins and needles in both hands for about five months now .Every now and again my palms of my hands feel as though they are being thrown into a bucket of stinging nettles .Well eventually someone has listened to me and I get to visit the neurologist tomorrow .so hopefully someone will give me an answer instead of the usual .well I don't know Best of luck you are not alone I fully understand your needs.
thankyou for all your replies and im sorry its taken this long to get back to you all....im not sure its circulation as i have a machine that helps with that, its better with the RA too, so much so that im hopefully coming off the meds! my gp seemed to think its just a muscular problem, i have a friend whos a physio and she said shed give me a once over, going to be painful but fingers crossed! (as well as we can cross them!) thankyou for all your support though and im glad its not just me! max xx
