Hi everyone has anyone else had pain on the outside of your left thigh, not sure if it is RA or something else, but it woke me up in the night. Any ideas would be appreciated before I phone my rheumy nurse.

I do, from the outside of my hip along the outside of my thigh to my knee. The docs say it's a tendinitis. My hips are affected by RA and I have active synovitis in various places around my hips and pelvis. That doesn't equal a diagnosis for you, but I hope the information helps.
I do have pain in my thighs...you will normally find me with a hot water bottle on my thighs...I don't know what causes mine..I put it down to weakness dur to R/A...I have it in most joints...be interesting to hear what you are told. Wishing you well.maryx
Hello BOB here
It sounds like Sciatica pain in transmitting from lower spine/hip trapping the nerve , I suffer from this all the time.
See the GP about it, will give medications if not all ready on them

After excercise even gentle walking i have terrible pain in my left hip, this lasts for days and hurts to sleep on that side. I never thought about RA until i read this. I have Bechets and RA is one of the symptoms i suffer with.
Yes when Rituximab is wearing off. Seem to get pain just about everywhere now!
How high up your thigh is the pain? I ask, because I wondered if it could perhaps be a bursa. If so, your rheumy could drain off some fluid and give you a steroid injection. I had a bursa just above my hip joint, which hurt like mad. After a drain and some steroids, it was ok and I've not been bothered by it since.
Thank you everyone, I haven't been able to get hold of anyone today so I will try again tomorrow, I still have the pain feels like it is in the middle of my thigh between my knee and hip on the outside but the pain seems to only be in one place, it doesn't feel like sciatica which I have had many times.
