Hello BOB here

Some problems associated with RA can be caused by immune system problems I understand, MTX was used in the past was used in the treatment of cancers.

MTX is used as an immune suppress medication so it controls the RA. and calms it down

So the medications may now be controlling your health problem. Sometimes I suppose there could be something in the tap water that you have removed, although I do not understand how that has happened. What were you like before you had RA. ?.

One person who would be able to tell you if this is possible is the GP, Sad to say I am not a Doctor so not able to confirm above. Only facts as I see them

Tomorrow sadly I am starting a course of MXT injections and I am not looking forward to it as I suffer with this drug.

All the best

BOB

Good afternoon Bob

I have been on MTX for a couple of years and had no improvement in my RA the only thing that did make any difference was gold injection unfortunately al of a sudden my body wouldn't tolerate it and I would pass out within a couple of minutes of the injection.

Before RA i was quite fit and had weekly fire ground training

Hello Bob here

If you have been on MTX for so long and it is doing no good why are you still taking it as there are several further medications you could try, -TNF type medications may work with your condition

Gold injections can and do sometimes cause severe contraindications. So you may now be due for a change.

GOOD LUCK

BOB

I wondering what made you fit the filter? Had you read somewhere that it would help?

I can't think of any obvious explanation why it should help RA.

Hi Chezzer, do you mean Brita filters? I have used these for about 20 yrs now because of very high lime levels in water but can honestly say I have found no difference at all in my inflammation levels. It does however make a nice cup of tea !!! Lol. Lynda xx

Could it be that something in these minerals would be 'alien' therefore causing the body to attack, sending immune system into overdrive? I think it,s interesting.......

Ha ha sorry, you know what I mean when I say alien, no little green men involved!

Where,s Polly when we need her?

Curiously I developed RA soon after we had a new kitchen with all new plumbing. The new copper pipes stained things at first. I decided it must be copper making me ill.

I don't believe it now. But I do remember searching in vain for a reason for me to be so ill and the magic solution to RA.

It took me years to reach "acceptance".

I had forgotten all about this till I saw your question.

Could it be the chlorine in tap water? Not sure if filters remove that
