Hello Alibonura, I am so sorry for your loss, it takes time to come to terms with the death of a family member and i do hope that you are working your way through it ok.
I think you can claim both dla and esa as dla is to help with getting around when you are not fit, I am sure someone more knowledgeable than i will come along to confirm this.
Hi Alibonura, I'm afraid I don't really know much about esa & dla.....I just want to say my heart goes out to you.....it's devastating a loss like that....I've just lost my father-in-law and my beloved cat within a few days of each other last week....I really hope you are coming to terms with your loss and working your way through to finding some peace. Sending big hugs xxxx
Hi Alibonura,
Yes you can claim both at the same time, My Husband does, he is Disabled after breaking his Back twice.
I was sorry to hear of your loss & send lots of love to you. Sadly I lost My Mum, one of my best friends,My Oh 's adopted Dad & Mum within 11 months. you just have to take each day one at a time.

Yes, dla is a help for you to cope with your disability and is not tied into any other benefit for example u can get dla even is u r working or in the support group. Good luck and glad to see you back after your horrible time recently , thinking of you.
And if you submit the form for dla get help from cab and photocopy everything would be my advice xxxxxAxx

Dear alibonura,
Further to the previous answers, as DLA is slowly being replaced with the new PIP payment, NRAS has released a new booklet (How to claim Personal Independence Payment) which is now available online or by calling NRAS on 0845 458 3969. We will also shortly be releasing an updated version of our 'Benefits and RA' booklet. If you have any further questions about benefits, do contact your local CAB or call our helpline on 0800 298 7650 and we will do what we can to help.
Best wishes,
Emma
