hello, does anybody use Humira?

# is it safe to take if working with children ( infections..).

# Is it true it increase risks of having cancer?

# is it stronger than sulfasalazine, methotrexate...

Hi - I do not take this particular drug myself although I do take another Anti-TNF- best advice anyone can give you is read the paperwork given to by your consultant, and also you will have consultation with him and your Rheum. Nurse

They will give you accurate information not just here say or what someone thinks without actually basing it on the facts

Hi there, I take Humira and have done so for 9 years (my saviour)!!

I don't work with children but volunteer at my local hospital (ie heightened risk of infection) and have had no major problems or excessive need for anti b's due to infections.

I think there is a minimal risk or slightly higher predisposition for cancer? But I'd rather have some years with a quality of life than live longer the way I was pre Humira.

I was on the highest dose of Methotrexate with horrible side effects and still regularly flarring, so for me it seemed stronger or certainly more effective.

No side effects that I'm aware of.

My advice would be to go for it without delay, but obviously it's your decision based on your current position and severity of the disease!!

Hi, I took humira alongside methotrexate for about 6 yrs. I work in a school - you just need to be careful with infections - I used to wash my hands often - still do and make a run for it if anyone sneezed by me! As fast as my knackered knees would take me!
