coincidence or not - does everyone feel the best day of their week is the day after taking methotrexate?
I just find days of the week to be so randomly different in regards to joint pain and tiredness.

I don’t feel any different from any other day but I am sure you will get a lot of replies with very different answers!!
Unfortunately I feel awful the next day, tired, really unwell and I’m only on a low dose, I take to combat antibodies for Humira, I have been offered choices to change to Sulpha or lefl, on reading about them, neither sound suitable for me, I recently saw the rheumy nurse to discuss my options and we have decided I should stay with the devil I know. X
oh no! Im half dead the day after. The side effects are awful & I get so unwell & I can’t work. It’s usually a little better after 24 hours but it can sometimes linger another day. I dread it every week! How different we all are!
That's rheumatoid disease for you. I don't think I feel any different but hard to know really because each day can be a new experience.
I hate Mondays mtx day I feel awful for days after I'm tired constantly. Starting amgevita today as well as staying on mtx 25mg I'm praying for some relief. I've just turned 46 feel like I've turned 106 😩😩😩😩
I often waken up feeling hungover the day after taking my MXT . Apart from that no other nauseous feelings rest of week.
Everyone is different…..I felt no different the day after than I did the day before taking Mtx.
It worked for me & I didn’t read anything that suggested otherwise….so presumed I’d feel OK & I did.
Being optimistic that any RA drug will suit you really helps.
When I first started taking methotrexate eight years ago, I felt off-colour the next day - listless, depressed and bad tempered. However, over the years this feeling has worn off and I rarely have a problem nowadays.
Hi, I used to take the tablets and felt awful for days, was talking to my consultant about it and the changed me to metro jet pens of methotrexate. The injections are a lot better once you get used to them, now just feel sick on an odd day of taking them. Tiredness and feeling bad for days just now and then, not ever often. Would not change back. Good luck, take care and stay safe.
Hi AW I,m constantly tired with no energy, some dys I dont move from sofa & sleep on & off & it starts day after mtx. I take mtx on a monday & start to feel normal on the sunday. But interestingly a couple wks back I had my b12 injection(have 1 every 3 mths) & I haven,t been as tired, The nausea has gotten less too as it got to the stage I wasn,t eating much at all & was about to stop taking mtx. I,ve only been taking that for 3mths. Pain wise it,s been low level daily with intermitent short sharp jabs in different joints(I do take pain killers) with a proper flare a few wks back. I was taking 4xdaily but now increased to 6 just 2 dys ago. I also take hydxy & 5mgs preds which I,ve been on for more than 2yrs with preds reduced to 2.5 mgs for only about 6 wks now.
All in all a lot going on with me & I,m trying to be patient with mtx & give my body time to adjust to all the changes with the drugs & hoping things will settle down soon. I have definately seen a difference in nausea/tiredness/apetite since I had b12 injection a few wks ago, I asked rheumy if there was a connection but he totally ignored it. I think there could be.
This disease behaves so randomly & as we are all unique everything that happens or doesn,t is down to the individual. But just giving you experiences I,m having at the moment & hope you,re coping with the tiredness,
I felt awful for several days after taking MTX, with bowel upset and nausea, then improved feeling my best the day before the next tab / injection was due. Then the cycle started again. After 11 months I was changed to a biologic.
oh noooooo! It was the worst day for me I’m afraid… I slept for 3 days after each one . Had to stop the drug ( it wasn’t helping me anyway ) Just shows you how different we all react to the drugs
I don't feel any diffent to honest I take the mtx Friday then a benapali jab Monday, just takes time for your body to adjust and I'm talking g 6 months not weeks good luck
I keep busy and don't really think about how I feel after injecting MTX. RA is so unpredictable anything can happen unexpectedly - painful joints, tiredness, fatigue.
Have been taking mtx for 3 years now by injection. Have always had nausea and bowel problems on it but have been reducing and now on 15 mgs which seems to be better.. I think I put up with the side effects for too long and thought seriously about stopping it altogether but feeling better now as the GI problems only last a day not 4-5 days.
