oh that is awful - can I ask why you have to go into the hospital, surely they can give you something even strong anti-inflammatories so that you can get some sleep. Can you ring your doctor and ask for a steroid? I hope you get sorted soon.

Ginny, it's very difficult at the beginning. It's all about finding the right cocktail of drugs to manage your symptoms. It will get better but unfortunately with this disease it can take a bit of time as every case is different. Keep the faith girl and just keep remembering that this will pass and there will be relief for you at the end of it. All the best darlin. Jean. Xx

I can understand how you feel. I was diagnosed at the beginning of March and had to wait till the middle of June before I was seen by a consultant. You feel no- one wants to help you, I do sympathise

It's a real struggle when you are first diagnosed. I was desperate when I first went to the hospital and was given a steroid injection by the nurse immediately after seeing the consultant. I was diagnosed in 2008 and finally now have the right treatment. Thankfully now I can lead a normal life again, sometimes I forget I have RA until I over do things and it PROMTLY reminds me! Any treatment you have, you must listen to your body. Take care and keep talking to others a on here as people that don't have RA really can't understand it. It's a complex disease with a mind of its own. Treatment is good, once you find what helps you. X

Your GP can give you pain relief, and anti-inflammatorys or amitriptyline low dose to help with sleep. I would ask them for help.

Sorry your in so much pain hope you get help soon.
