Hi has anyone heard of the above? That is what the results of the wrist scan on my lump bought up. I am seeing an orthopaedic cosultant on Monday to see what they can do. When I looked it up it did say that it can be associated with RA.I seem to be getting one on my other wrist now as well.
Dequervain's tenosynovitis: Hi has anyone heard of the... - NRAS
Dequervain's tenosynovitis
I have that in both my wrists and was given splints by he Physio, hurts like hell too lol, just another of life's shitty bits that gets thrown at us lol.
Keep your chin up, there's not much else we can do.
Hi Philip thanks very much for the reply. You are right it does hurt like hell. I have got a splint that I had left from another problem I had with my wrist so I have been using this for a while. It definitely helps as it stops me from doing certain movements which made me hit the ceiling with the pain. I read that the lump can eventually go if the wrist is well strapped up. How long have you had yours? & do you think this could be true? or am I being a bit too optimistic.
Fran.
You might not get told this by medics, but try 'Googleling' Tenosynovitis and magnesium.
Hubby has been diagnosed with Tenosynovitisand, he has seen the physio, it is very painful condition as you must well know, he has reddened swelling on his upper hands, tightness/stiffness and his fingers lock stiffly together, he has been given splints and play dough (therapy for his hands.)
I had a feeling Tenosynovitis might be connected with some kind of vitamin/mineral deficiency as I have been reading into how many illnesses are now being connected to the good old vits and mins.
I have been reading ('Googling') that Magnesium is good for Tenosynovitis, fatigue/tiredness, muscle aches/fatigue and also Fibromyalgia.
Need to also read up the accompanying dosages recommended and how best to take it.
