Planning for RA Awareness Week

As I'm sure you are all aware by now, Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week is taking place from the 24th to 30th June. We’re all getting excited as it’s the first of its kind in the UK and it’s keeping us quite busy. Events and activities are being planned and there will be plenty to do throughout the week so do get involved – the best way to raise awareness of rheumatoid arthritis is for you to take part.

The main thing we need from you guys, other than telling everyone you know about the week and putting the poster up wherever you can, is to tell us your stories. What was your life like before RA, how did the RA impact upon your life and how have you adapted to this? If you think you could express this in a few paragraphs then please get in touch.

What we would also like are some testimonials. Have you used the helpline before? If so then please let us know what the service meant to you at the time, how did it benefit you. Also let us know what your membership of NRAS has meant to you, what aspect of your membership do you most rely upon.

Email your story/testimonial to media@nras.org.uk and please also include a photo.

Very many thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend!

Hi Cal,

Thanks for getting in touch, it was good to read your blogs as they're really well written. It would be great if we could use you for a story. Could you drop send me an email (media@nras.org.uk) so I can give a little more detail.

I recently sent a blog and picture to the department on volunteering and reasons for using HU, would it be helpful, I don't know if it was ever used, one of the ladies from the office asked me to contribute for that blog just a few weeks ago.

Hi Allanah, we did use your case study for the Annual Review - it was very helpful indeed! I will send you a copy :) Ruth
