Thanks Roisin, I had no idea...it seems so long! I was just sitting in front of a pile of sh1te on the television and thought I would check in to see what was happening. It's good to see you're still keeping everyone on their toes

I'm still off them and it seems so normal now that I hardly even think about it. I've briefly reverted to my old forum self in the last couple of weeks as a lad at work who has stopped for over four years is being tempted back to them. He has had a few heavy sessions on the drink and has smoked while he's been out. A few times last week he mentioned he might buy some tabs when he gets home so I've tried to talk him out of it. I think he's sick of me but he hasn't bought any yet!

Anyway, hope you and your hubby are well? Is the job going OK? The last time we "spoke" I think you had just started it.

Hey Nozmo - good to hear from you and that you continue to go strong. Hubby and I are grand thanks. I am working away and will be 6 months in the Nursing home on Thursday, time just flying by. It has been pretty tough going especially during the heatwave. It is just starting to get comfortable working now and not sweating buckets!! Still trying to get the work and home life balance as never worked weekends before and on a week to week shift rota, but on the plus side, latest I would work is 19:00. I also have started a 16 week cake decoration evening course every Tuesday and Thursday evening as money not great with just starting out on the culinary ladder. Still baking my weekly bread order. If I think I have a flare or skill for the cake baking, will try out doing birthday novelty cakes...

How is the family and Mrs Nozmo getting on in her course she is doing, probably finished it now?

Glad to hear you're still there Roisin; it must have been gruelling in the summer! I know a few people who get quite a bit of business from cake decorating so if you take to it I think you should give it a go. The wife of one of the blokes at work runs her cake decorating business via Facebook and she does very well.

My family is fine thanks. My daughter has started college and now has a boyfriend who she is besotted with. He's a nice lad but it's still......weird. My son just gets bigger every day. He's only 12 but already 5ft 10. He looks like a giant standing next to his school mates and he's as tall as his mam. I'm waiting for the sad day when he gets taller than me...and it won't be long at this rate! Mrs Nozmo has finished the course as you guessed but she has started on the next level as of a couple of weeks ago. I can see a change of job coming up for her in the near future but I also suspect she goes to college just to avoid staying in with me

I'm very happy to hear everything's OK with you. I do check in every now and then to see what's happening. Very sad to see Lizzie has left.

Good to read Nozmo - thats great your wife is on to the next level in her course. I would have loved to do up the next 2 levels in Professional Cookery but they don't seem be able to get the numbers for the 2nd year in our local college and just too expensive to commute elsewhere to do it.

What age is your daughter? What is she studying, didn't realize she was at that stage...

Oh LIzzie didn't leave, she is under her original profile again Dizzylizzy123 !! She too is doing well and got a cleaning job and busy with her grandkids and also pops in now and again

My daughter is sixteen and she’s studying computer games design Roisin. She tells me all about it but I haven’t got a clue what she’s talking about!

Hey Roisin 1000 days I can hardly believe it!! I don't pop by very often any more but this group helped me so much in my quit😁😁 I certainly would not have reached 1000 days without it!! I still have my battles with smoking, my mum passed away at the beginning of this year and there was many a times I would have lit up if I had a cigarette near me😕but I didn't and I haven't and I continue to be on my guard when nasty nic is about!! Hope you are well ?and nice to see all the oldies still staying strong💪💪 and good luck to all the newbies starting out, stay strong, one day at a time and you will soon reach a 1000 days like the rest of us! 😘😘

Hey nettynoono - good to hear from you and that you are continuing to go strong. I am very sorry to read of the passing of your Mam. Wishing you strength dealing with the still very raw grief.

I'm grand, working away as a chef in a local residential home for the elderly, its only temp work from week to week but suits me at the moment as started my hand at doing novelty cakes the end of last year and quite busy with them over the next few months for communions, christenings and birthdays so getting alot of much needed practice in 🍰🧁🎂🍨
