Wooo!! Week 2 is finally underneath my belt and how sweet does it feel. :D

14 days ago today I had decided that I was done with smoking and stopped cold turkey. I did not want the Nicdemon in my body anymore in any way, shape, or form. So I decided to go at it completely cold turkey without the nic gum, patches, pills, e cigs (E cigs really destroy any hopes to get rid of the "hand to mouth addiction" ... personally speaking.)

There have been some rough moments. There have been moments where I wanted to go back to smoking because of either stress or the social activity of all my friends going outside and having a cigarette. But, nope (not one puff ever) is my best friend and word right now. My will power far out weighs the cravings that sometimes come and poke me in the side, especially after TWO WEEKS of not smoking.

This started out as an "experiment" to see if I could go totally cold turkey, that experiment has turned into a lesson, a very personal lesson.

YES I can do it, and if I can do it so can ANYBODY.

YES it is possible with the right support system (this forum and supportive family and friends)

YES it is possible with enough will power.

The secret? You have to want to stop. I have said it once, twice and I will say it a million times more. YOU have to want to stop smoking, you have to make that decision for yourself. If you do not want to quit, then it is going to be very hard to fight off the cravings. It REALLY is a personal decision.

So here is to the TWO WEEKERS that have had the will power to keep the Necdemon away and continue to say NOPE!!!

That's right, SugarPuff, looking at you buddy!

I've got this. WE'VE got this!!! Looking forward to posting in Week 3 tomorrow. :D:D

Brilliant positive post, Mike.

You have my total respect for the way you're handling your quit, fella

Spot on when you say the secret is wanting to stop...it's such a simple thing to say, but it really is the difference between an easy quit and a tortuous one.

You're an inspiration!

Yea, go Mike, go.

Great post, and you are doing fantastic, congratulations.

I agree with the nicodemon patches, e-cigs and so on. I had 5 lozenges in my 1st few days, but as nicotine is what we are out to beat thought it best to get it all out of my system for good and all :D

All the long-timers say it, but yes, I find it gets easier even on my short path.:)

Keep going Mike. ****** brilliant so far !! ;);)
