In a few minutes I'll have the third day under my belt and will be embarking on day 4. I must confess the last three days haven't been too hard at all (almost feel guilty writing that as I know how hard it can be). The worst thing has been the side effects of Champix during the first few days of taking them, but (thankfully) that seems to have settled right down.
Had an isolated but severe dizzy spell on day 2 but this is apparently common when quitting and not due to the Champix. Woke up this morning (day 3) with a mouth tasting like a cesspit, as though I'd been on a bender last night (I hadn't, promise!); also vivid smoking dreams (yuk!).
I've found loads of resources on the web to read which has helped greatly - I think with a bit more of this knowledge I'd have avoided my downfall in my last serious quit about four years ago; basically I was arrogant enough / stupid enough to think I could have 'just one' after ten months quit. A bit more humility this time - we are all addicts and always will be, one puff is all it takes and we lose our remission.
Still feeling rock solid this time and looking forward to the benefits which are still to come!

I am into my 4th day now by two minutes - omg I didnt realise it would be this difficult. On the plus side I am doing lots of research about the things I am interested in, I have to keep my mind occupied most of the time.
Im on day 4 tho have to say I had a few drags of a cig today! Tasted weird! How sick is this I got em out of the bin, had half a pack lol but ditched em for good now. Had a big fight with my partner and lit up asap, tragic I know. Gotta learn to deal with anger without smoking, its not like it helps at all.Am upset I had a bust tho but cant let it stop me...............
Rachael - the problem is we all get angry dont we. I find I want one more when I am upset. Totally understand your dilemma. Keep on with it - I wouldnt want you to have to go through this again
i to am on champix and in week 7 of not smoking. I have to agree with you that champix does make you feel sick, dizzy, tired and generally not yourself. I did persist with them and now only take the morning tablet. Ive just spent xmas with my chain smoking mum and it didnt bother me at all. I was more than happy playing with my kids new toys.
My advice is to stick with it and just take it 1 day at a time and keep coming on here. There posts have keep me fag free for 7 weeks xx
Welcome and sounds like you're in the right frame of mind, so please let this be the 'one' for you. You've hit it on the head, there's no such thing as one puff, it's followed by a pack!
