I'm a cold turkey quitter, so i don't think its a chemical thing. Since my quit I've been laughing a LOT more than usual, some times so hard i can't stop and people think i'm mental. I was watching Only Fools and Horses on Youtube earlier and was laughing for like 20 minutes untill i had to go outside and cool down
This obviously isn't a problem or a bad thing but just curious if anyone else has had this side effect and knows if it will continue??

wish I was "a freak" like you! Since I quit I am a whining, miserable caricature of myself. Shant have a friend left soon unless I buck up...send me some of what you've got please x
Aw, hang in there. I'm not constantly a giggling mess you know its just a weird side-effect that's more or less gone now. I think it had something to do with nervous energy, or maybe i'm a happy guy deep down and the fags were blocking it somehow (i'm not a scientist lol)

This is a brilliant side effect - a merry heart doeth good like a medicine apparently. Gotta say, I feel slightly elated because after 4 days, I'm not finding it as hard as I had imagined. I don't think smoking was ever really 'me' - maybe you're the same and your just coming back to yourself - either way - long may it last. Best wishes Steph
1. Being happy that I finally managed to quit smoking - and I've been trying since 01.01.2005
2. My health improving - a lot of positive health changes are occuring when you quit smoking and feeling good and healthy is contributing to a good mood
AKA Jordan, my husband & I quit smoking cold turkey 6 days ago and just started back up smoking yesterday. My question for you is, did the laughter finally normalize for you? Because the 5 days we quit, we could not stop laughing either. It felt great, but it also felt weird to be laughing at nothing and laughing uncontrolably. So we totally understood what you were saying, we knew people thought we had a mental disorder, so we tried to avoid going to many places during those five days lol. Help! We are wanting to go cold turkey once again and try to whip this addiction, but the laughter was a bit scary. Thanks.
