Hello

Day 3 of Champix, bad sleep again! Annoying my g/f i think.

Im feeling bit wonky and not very calm.

Not sure if there is any medication to try and calm me down a bit or herbal remedies?

Anybody know what to try?

Kalms?

Time out works (5 mins alone somewhere to do some deep breathing). Kalms can work for some, but I use camomile tea which is quite effective. Exercise really helps too.

If things don't settle, have a chat with your GP. It sometimes takes a little time for the body to get used to the medication.

Good luck!

Hang in there Alfie - Champix can mess you about, dusrupted sleep, weird dreams, nausea..... but it works! It took me off fags 9 months ago.

The side effects should ease a bit, but if not, talk to your doctor or whoever prescibes the Champix for you.

Hey alfie

Only advice anyone will give you is speak to your prescribing Doctor and it's good advice. Champix is a powerful medication and herbal remedies can be powerful, interacting with western medicines so before you make up that calming cocktail speak to your GP or Cessation Nurse. Camolmile tea is good for the soul though.

It's early days on the Champix. Give it some time to get to work. You will be amazed when one day soon you just stub out that last cig ;) It worked it's Alice 'n' Wonderland on me :D Still not smoking.

Keep an eye on your mood and speak to your GP if you get concerned or anyone else who knows you gets concerned.

Poor sleep can cause moodiness and vice versa so keep an eye on it and be honest with youself and let your g/f know how you are feeling.

Good luck

Andrew
