I'm awake really early (again!) - I'm waiting for 9am when I can go to the dentist. I have three teeth that have been dodgy for ages but since I quit smoking they have been giving me lots of grief. The last few days I've hardly been able to eat because of the pain. I'm fed up really and wondering if it's all worth it.
Day 25 - Dentist Day: I'm awake really early... - No Smoking Day
Day 25 - Dentist Day
Hi Pleiades
Well done 25 days smoke free that's great Big Hug I'm so sorry you've got trouble with some teeth since you quit but it does happen for some of us even I had trouble and I have denrures HA HA they became to big as my gums shrank and had to be relined so I can imagine the pain you have right now
But I promise it is worth it to be free of this addiction we all have please stick with it whatever problems we get they do pass and you'll feel so much better the further you travel along the road to freedom

A great quit at 25 days, well done. Once you get the toothache sorted you will feel loads better.

I had really bad bleeding gums when I brushed. This is apparently because all the circulation returns to your blood vessels and nerve endings grow back. Your mouth took the brunt of all the poisons (CO, NO2 etc.) you see. The pain is probably due to the nerve ends growing back again - a good sign!
Hi
Mouth issues are a side effect of the quit. Some people sail through it with some minor gum bleeding and for others it can be a right pain....literally.
Hope the dentist sorts things out for you, but a good sensitive toothpaste and corsodyl mouth wash do help.
HOWEVER....no matter how bad the teeth/mouth issues are, and trust me I know, it is still not worth going back to the cigs...
Good luck...and stay strong xx
The dentist gave me a prescription for two different antibiotics and some chlorhexedrine. He's referring me to Birmingham dental hospital for deep cleaning and stuff. He said that most of my teeth can still be saved despite the serious gum disease. I came away filled with new hope and a determination to keep the quit - come what may!
I'm so pleased the Dentist could help and gave you fresh hope and determination
