I was just going through a lot .. and caved.. i know know im weak.. but i feel like i am back on track.. !

I have been quit for 3 Weeks, 6 Days, 23 hours, 8 minutes and 18 seconds (27 days). I have saved £77.84 by not smoking 335 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 3 hours and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 13/04/2008 21:40

  • Oh, dear I'm sorry you had a wee blip - but don't feel too bad and don't dwell on it or beat yourself up over it.

Hopefully, you can learn something from this - no matter how bad things are, a cigarette will NEVER made the situation better - in fact it just makes things worse.

Chin up, and carry on :)

  • thanks

thank you.. that's made me feel better. This is the first time i have not had a ciggie for so long.. so i am still very proud of myself..

  • You have every right to feel proud of yourself ! :)

Almost four weeks - that's your first month almost in! :)

You're doing great, don't let anything or anyone stop you now! :D

  • you wont get any lectures on here!

we have all been where r u , and like u, we get back on with it.

keep at it and good luck!

  • The last time i gave up (nearly 10 years ago), I gave in after 3 weeks and had one fag, It tasted awful, and I didn't even consider smoking again for 4 years (the reason I did was to spite my ex wife, but that's a different story). Anyway, what I'm trying to say, is don't beat yourself up about it. It happens, and I seriously think that for some people, that one little 'cave' can actually help!

Keep going, you've done great so far and people are always here to help! I'm in my 3rd week too, so if you ever want support from someone in the 'same place', I'm here if you want me.

    Keep it up.

    Dave :)

  • wow

this really is the best place to be for help! Thanks guys.. feeling a lot better about myself now. All i kept telling myself was im human, it happens.. and don't think of this as a failure as you didn't have a full ciggie and you are still continuing.. so .. on with the show..

  • It was a blip, nothing more. It has probably helped to secure your quit. Dont let it get to you, at least you didnt smoke a full pack, or continue to do it for a few days - thats a set back, a few drags is not (although it is naughty :D)

lol i just realised why i did it. Im on the patches and chemist gave me the wrong patches. I was supposed to go on to the last lot of patches(lowest strength) in a weeks time, so was mentally preparing myself for the change but they gave them to me by mistake already, no wonder i was suffering

    BAD CHEMIST :(

  • lol

that woman is sooooooooooooo ditsy.. i have been going to get my patches for 4 weeks now.. and have been on the same strength the whole time.. yet EVERY WEEK she needs assistance to give me the right patch.. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i will give her slap.. p*d me off .. was doing so well.

If you see me on the front page of the papers tomorrow you know why! :)

Sorry to hear of your blip, and that is all it was !!!! a blip. Get on with your quit, you said yourself that you disliked the taste and that you dont want to smoke. Keep that mind set and just take it one day at a time.

Oh yer, give me the address of the chemist and i will fly over and drop something unpleasant on them:D

    Mark

is this what happens when people give up? they turn crazily funny? lol if that is true.. bring it on.. hopefully im on my way to being like you skygod! :D

as for the chemist.. its the boots in Woodley(apparently according to my boss.. its a place where people go to die.. lol) and there i am doing the opposite ;)

  • Hi Princess

Sorry to hear that you had a wee blip.

have a look at this link. It is one article in Joels Library on whyquit and it may help you a wee bit with the one day at a time scenario to getting on with your quit..

    whyquit.com/joel/Joel_04_01...

Stay focussed and stay strong Princess and i am sure you will get over these crappy days a lot easier.

(thats probably the closest you will get to a lecture on here) :)

wow just read that .. its brilliant.. have added it to my favourites and will re-read it as often as necessary..

    thank you

  • oh dear

i really am not having any luck with the patches.. THEY HAVE GIVEN ME THE WRONG ONES AGAIN! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

they have now taken me back to the very beginning on step 1..

i am so fed up :(

I have now been smoke free for 4 Weeks, 1 Day, 13 hours, 31 minutes and 56 seconds (29 days). I have saved £82.29 by not smoking 354 cigarettes. Life saved 1 Day, 5 hours and 30 minutes . Quit Date: 13/04/2008 21:40

  • Just wear that one for today and take the pack back and complain, or worse case scenario, buy the step 2 and keep the step 1 (just in case)

As long as you are not smoking, thats the main thing. ;)
