I have been quit for 1 Day, 21 minutes and 1 second (1 days). I have saved £4.86 by not smoking 20 cigarettes. I have saved 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 01/11/2009 12:10
I know I am only just in day 2 but at least I am
I managed NOT to pinch a ciggie from OH for the morning. I managed NOT to go to the garage on the way to work. I managed NOT to go to the garage on the way home for lunch. Get me hey!!!!
When I get a crave I keep telling myself it's not ME that wants one just my addiction wanting to be fed. That's doing it for me at the moment so long may it continue.
Thanks SO much to everyone who replied to my HELP thread yesterday, it really made a difference. Those that know me from my last quit know I have really struggled to get back on it & this is the furthest I've got so hopefully (this will be) the one.
I actually feel proud of myself for even this monor acheivement so far
Thanks again my lovelies.
Gaynor xx

You've hit the nail on the head with your way of thinking abuot the cravings.. its not you, its the addiction..
what you must do here right now is break the cycle.. you stop feeding it.. and continue to do so.. and that endless pattern of it getting what it wants will be broke.. and that nagging it does to be fed gets less and less.. you will manage more and more.. and then you start to feel the benefits of being free from it.. and all that rolled together forms your quit. its an ongoing thing, but one which rewards your constantly, sometimes you don't notice.. and then you realise.. you like being quit
Good luck and congratulations on making a great start here
I know just how your feeling I had my last one at 8am 01/11/09 and have managed to resist stealing my husbands or running out to the shop; i also had a look at the whyquit.com site at lunch when I had the urge.
I didn't reply to your 'help' thread yesterday...no worries. I still wish you all the best and get you not succumbing to the evil nicodemon....well done

And so you should be. Good going Gaynor, keep it up.
Well done Gaynor, I know you can do it,if I can you can. It was the hardest decision for me to make but here i am on Day 4 and feeling so proud of myself.
Well done! I am also patting myself on the back everytime I manage to resist temptation. I live with two smokers and have even managed not to nick any of their fags.
