Can you believe, here we are, on week 3 ? Mind you, the last 2 weeks seem like a lifetime ago  Not particularly because they have been SO BAD, just because it seems to have really dragged on and on and on

it's good to share your experiences and listen to others.
i have to say personally i have found it much easier than i ever believed or dreamed it could be and the support from my kids and family is amazing......i'm pretty sure i could walk on water if i tried.
well done everyone
Gary
I'm still here! (although only just joined the forum)
Downsides seem to be that I'm still coughing every morning when I wake up. Probably just 12 years of smoking gunk still clearing out.
Major upside seems to be that I've suddenly become more interested in certain aspects of my relationship which is making my boyfriend very happy indeed! Maybe it's to do with having more energy and knowing I smell good!
Morning All
Day 16!!!!! didnt think id make it, but feelin good, no coughing, but then i never did unless i was ill, then it took ages to go away. Well done everyone and thanks for ur support over last weekend - that was touch & go :D
I'm still here too
Well done everybody. We are doing so well! We'll have done a month before we know it!
I'm still here day 16, I'm amazed! week two was really tough in parts, getting better now though, the bad cravings seem to have passed for now, thank God! well done everyone!
Hi All,
Thought I'd better drop in just to say that I'm still with you, just haven't had time to come on here, been so busy.
I've been focusing on losing some (well -- ultimately all) the weight that I've gained since October last year when I started cutting down on my smokes with a view to stopping on NYE.
I'd put on over a stone in weight and having lost 4 stone the year before last to put a quarter of it back on is a big deal for me. I've found that concentrating and focusing on my diet, exercise, going to the gym etc has pretty much taken my mind off cigarettes completely, I can honestly say I rarely think about it now and if I do it's just a thought that's there one moment and gone the next. I've lost 5 lb so far, so already about a third of the way there.
With the money we've saved from not smoking, plus the extra money we've earned from our business because we're so much more productive by not spending several hours a day outside smoking (we've really noticed the difference there, the day is so much longer, we get through so much more work and our orders have doubled) I've just booked our summer holiday, 3 weeks in Antigua, somewhere I've always wanted to go, so can't wait for that (courtesy of John Player, thank you very much LOL)
I've read that some of you are still struggling my advice is just concentrate on something else, the more you think about cigarettes and smoking the more you want one, you just need to find something else to focus the mind on, it's worked for me.
Angela
grats angela x x x
good to hear from you! 4stone! wow what a star! even if some has gone back you have come a long way x x
I have gone back to gym too, need to get bits back where they belong and hopefully fit back in the clothes I haven't ripped yet
Quitting does tend to bring in more things and focusing on these things helps loads, healthy shift of attention!
Stay strong and stay in touch x x ~Buffy x x
Im still not smoking either - don't feel envious looking at people huddled outside in the rain, looking wet and embaressed.
I am dreading Friday though, I am going on a night out which has been planned for months. So far I have avoided alcohol this year so I don't fail but I know I will have to have a couple of beers this friday (I can;t keep avoiding it). Im just nervous my tipsy mind will 'make' me have a cigarette. Grrr.
Anyone else had to deal with this problem??
I find a few beers help ease that 'need' for something, too many beers however, may cause a problem
I am sure you will hold tight, the first time, you are so aware you tend to get through it ok x x x
It's when you start getting complacent I tend to worry

hmmm i have got exactly this challenge to come next week - going to some concerts and bound to have a few. I think maybe the best bet is not to drink too much. I have in the past ended up so drunk i have memory loss so lord knows what i got up to - that would be bad right now!
