I woke up this morning @ 2am to use the bathroom, only to find my 16 yr old daughter talking on the phone on a school night! I totally flipped out and of course all I wanted to do is light up! I think the only thing that saved me is that it was pouring rain and around 45 degrees outside!!! I have never smoked in the house because of the kids. Thank god for that, because if I did
I think I would have been done! If I can get through this with teenagers, I will have accomplished a great task!

These pat few days have been hell on me! I found the 1st week to be much easier. I"m wondering if I should have chose some sort of quitting aid. I'm not one for taking meds, and the patch gave me very vivid dreams. Of course this is the week of the month us woman all hate. Do you recall them being more difficult than others? Any suggestions???
Yes the time of the month always makes it harder because I am shorter tempered and snappier then anyway!!
Coil up in a ball and hide in bed
You could try some nicotine gum?
Also I found the gym to be a good way for me to give myself necessary 'me time' and occupy myself. but theres walking or jogging, drawing, reading just anything that you can do for yourself and to occupy yourself.
I think that 'me time' does become an issue as we used to hide behind smoking and then stop putting too much effort in!
Just try and concentrate on 'you' rather than being swallowed up in the trials and tribulations!
I motivate myself by writing down plans and ideas etc.
Also some people recommend rescue remedy for a lift, I haven't tried it yet myself but I would like too!! it is all natural and can be bought in high street chemists.
Well we all have days (Different numbers) that seem really hard for us. Unfortunately when you have a day like that it seems to take forever for it to end.
If you just make it through the day and wake up tomorrow I "know" you will feel better.
Instead of looking at it as "You want a cigarette" just tell yourself that you are now a non-smoker. And that empty feeling you have in your chest right now is your lungs healing and that you are beating the little nicotine monster!
Good job not cracking there overtheedge!! You did the right thing by not going outside because that would have made things much worse for you in the long run. That would not have helped the situation so GOOOOOD JOB!!!
Ohhh my poor hubby lol. I got that nasty thing us woman have to get each month and I was only a few days in to my quit. He stayed AWAY and didn't ask any questions lol. He knew to BACK OFF.
Your quit will soon be much easier and you will feel better soon.
Lol yes men do have to take for granted that 1 week of the month they need to lie low and say 'yes dear' regardless !!!
Overtheedge!!! what is that about?! thought it was just my man!! lol he definitely goes through Pmt, sorry pms lol In uk we call it pre menstual tension.
He gets all dithery and indecisive and doesn't know what he wants!! hehehe
Though it probably isn't as frequent as once a month
Today is a much better day! I have been working outside and I actually am feeling the positive effects of not smoking!! Someone on this forum posted a link to a smoking effects video on you tube. Everytime I want to smoke I have watched it. It has really helped to turn me away. My kids told me how proud they are of me last night. It made me feel really good!
PS: Men - can't live with em, and can't live without em. What are we going to do, but bear with it as they bear with us!! LOL
