I’m 4 years, 7 months past transplant and still working with my Nephrologist to staboliza tacrolimus levels is my bi monthly blood tests.
How long post transplant did it take you (if you take tacrolimus)?
Suggestions?
thanks

Hi, I’ve been on tacrolimus since my transplant 8 years ago. Many times over the years I’ve had to adjust my dosage based on my levels and then keep getting bloodwork. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. I see my nephrologist next week, we’ll see how it is then.
Also stay hydrated. I got an oncall work call at 10pm. Next stop was 8 hours later at the Lab. The tac was almost 8. 4 days later got my brain back and results normal.
My levels stabized pretty quick, within the first month. I was taking 1.0 both morning and evening. After 2-3 years they lowered the evening dose to .5mg. Been on that dosage for at least 15 years. Good luck!
Hi! I am 19 years out (this coming November). I don't remember how long it took for my Tacro levels and dose to stabilize, but they have gone out of whack a few times over the years for no reason. You are supposed to avoid certain things when you take Tacro, such as grapefruit juice and green tea, but I do not, and have never drank these.
I am also facing same, now on 2 g and my level is between 4-5, but in the two years to now i cant remember that i stayed on one dose for more than 2 months
