teeth whitening

Hi ,

Has anyone got their teeth whitened by the dentist since your transplant . I’m using it now with a mouth guard the dentist made for me. I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid but I feel weird when I’m using it ??

I have not whitened my teeth professionally but if your not having any issues then your fine. What is your biggest worry?

I get that and sometimes we just worry even if we know or kinda know it's okay to do things. I still watch my potassium intake when I don't need to as much as I do! So go whiten those teeth and show your pearly whites! If that don't work I have my dad's show case of dentures that he used to get new dentist to hire him! My dad owned a dental lab so I grew up playing with teeth!

I’m doing it and hope it works but if it doesn’t I have a back up plan now 😂😂

No worries! I have had my teeth cleaned and whitened since my transplant. Taking care of your teeth is very important, especially after having a transplant.

Yes I’ve had them cleaned and polished lots of times it’s just my first time bleaching them . I’m sure my dentist wouldn’t let me do it if it was not for me .

I’ve had veneers and lower teeth bleaching post transplant. The only thing you need to worry about is for any intense dental work you might want to take antibiotics to avoid infections. I couldn’t stand laser whitening tho’ those zingers killed me. Nothing to do with my kidney though. Just a baby.
