Has anyone else seen a serious increase in price of Tacro? I have noticed my cost seriously increasing over the past few months. I am on Medicare/BC-BS, but I think I have used up my deductible, but not positive. Just wanted to see if anone else has noticed a cost increase, before I check further...Thanks!

do you not have Medicare part b to cover it?
where do you purchase your meds? I purchase in India and the prices seem fairly ok.
I've had several changes in insurance over the last several years but am now on Medicare Advantage BCBS as well and Tac is $600 without a pre-authorization. With it, it's $125/month which is significantly better but still really expensive.
The drug companies won't admit it but my guess is the Medicare Part B permanent payment of all immusuprants has led to this. Kind of like what happened with insulin when Medicare took over that.
So - problem solved. My last prescriptions were filled before my deducatables were paid. The last EOB from Medicare said i had, but the prescriptions were filled before that. So, all is well and I am appreciative of all the comments. Thanks!
Sorry for you.I am fortunate to live in canada and all my healthcare free as well as prescription neds for kudney patients.i wish i could send you my unused tacro as i am on beltracept now but i have so much unused tacro from when they were switching doses all the time in the beginning 7 months ago especially the 3mg pills
Hi Palmtreeguy, my daughter’s doctor switched her to envarsus, the slow release version of tacrolimus couple of months ago and the price really shot up. I assumed it’s because of the change. We found that the company that makes envarsus gives coupons that cover part of the cost. You can go register on the website to get a code and pass on to the pharmacy. That might help offset the cost a little. Not sure if your situation is the same but thought I’ll write in case it helps.
I am sure that will be helpful for many here. As for me, now that my deductibles have been covered, my cost has reverted back to modest $8.60 for 90 pills/1 month supply.
There may be $0 co-pay cards available. They only work with private insurance; my understating is that you cannot be on Medicare. I had a $0 copay card when I was on Prograf and another one when I was on Envarsus. If you are in the US, ask you doctor about a co-pay card. I had to ask, as they never offered it.
I was scanning Mark Cuban's new online pharmacy. The prices are pretty good and looks like they are willing to work with your existing insurance.
