I was thrilled to get Evusheld because I had generated no antibodies following three full doses of the Moderna vaccine. But finding Evusheld isn't easy as only enough doses were purchased for 17% of the estimated 7 million immunosuppressed. Even though there are millions of us, once again it feels as if we are being forgotten and just advised to stay home.
I also had no response to 3 moderna vaccines & got Evusheld last week of Jan.
I agree with Transplant 2018. I feel completely ignored & forgotten by media, medical experts & politicians. I have to do it all on my own. I researched prophylactic antibody treatment for past 6 mos & looked everywhere for it. I found it on my own. I'm frustrated with the lack of support for us. It's a shame there is so little evusheld & it's even more unfair distribution is irregular- pre and post infection antibody treatments don't always go first to the most vulnerable to serious disease.
Here in Casper, WY the Health Dept only received 48 doses of Evusheld. I was #32 when I got mine 2 weeks ago. I had no side effects. Hopefully in the near future more Evusheld will be available to transplant patients.
I got the Evusheld shots too. No side effects. After weeks of waiting for the hospital to schedule the shots, I contacted my transplant coordinator to see if there were any other places I could possibly get it. She said she had heard of some pharmacies having it. After a google search I found 2 in my local area where it was available so my coordinator sent the order there and I was able to get my shots the next day. Hope this helps…
I’ve also had Evusheld—minor cough as side effect. Have others who have had it also been advised to get 4th vaccine afterwards?
I have had 4 vaccines shots and no measurable antibodies. One of my doctors thus recommended me for Evusheld and I got the shots a week later. My infectious disease doctor said not to get any more boosters, nor another antibody test, and wait until 4-6 months to decide if more Evusheld injections are warranted. I had zero side effects. I still wear masks when in public, but otherwise feel much freer.
