I am a kidney transplant patient and I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am sick for more than a week with fever, headache and body pain. At night I get high fever and body pain. They told me to keep checking my oxygen and if its low then go hospital. I was told to quarantine for 20 days as I am immune compromised. Is there any transplant patients who are suffering from COVID-19 or have gone through quarantine. Please share your experience with me as we are all in this together to end Covid-19. God bless everyone.
COVID 19 POSITIVE : I am a kidney... - Kidney Transplant
COVID 19 POSITIVE
I had Covid and had cough/extremely tired/loss of taste. No fever, O2 stayed between 96-99, no chest pain or breathing issues. Mild for the most part. Tested last Friday again and I am now negative after about 24 days.
How has the infection changed your creatinine?
It has not
This isn’t related to this post, apart from arsenalfan, I’m also a huge arsenal fan and just wanted to say hi haha
Hi, Tahmed251--I had a kidney transplant three years ago. At the end of December 2020, I got COVID 19. My experience was not too bad: a few weeks of extreme fatigue, some intestinal issues, a bad cough, and very crazy blood sugar numbers (I have NODAT). My quarantine was 20 days. My various doctors and local health agencies checked in with me regularly during that time. My most recent labs seem to indicated that there was no damage to my transplanted organ. Sounds like you're having a much rougher time of it. I'm so sorry. Good luck.
I had a severe bout of COVID back in late March, early April and the headaches, severe body pains, diarrhea were the worst and lasted about 12 days. I am an 18 year post transplant recipient. I made sure anytime I felt something in my chest I coughed it up. I was tested and have antibodies in June. Stay in touch with your docs and be sure to drink and eat to keep up your strength. Best wishes, Ricky
I am so sorry to hear that. I am very afraid of getting Covid, so I have been quarantining since May. I wear 2, sometimes 3, layer masks when I go to the grocery store. I have only seen friends in person twice. I do all other activities on Zoom/Google Meet. Yes, it gets lonely, but I will NOT take chances with my transplanted kidney. I will pray for you.
Hi I was recently diagnosed with covid on Jan. 3. I had it mild-mod? Mostly fever and nausea during the day. I received the bamlam infusion on day 6 and everything was back to normal on day 8. Minor cough and chest pains( only when I took a deep breathe) completely went away within the week! Hope you feel better soon or already!!
