My husband was diagnosed with Kidney failure 11 hears ago, he was on dialysis for almost 7 years. He got transplant few years ago and is doing much better now. It is tough experience and part of your life, just remember that every day and every hour is different so take a moment at a time. Ask for support when you need it and always remember that there is a lot of help available. I have learned a lot and still learning and it is important to share and bring awareness.
Kidney failure to dialysis to Transplant... - Kidney Transplant
Kidney failure to dialysis to Transplant and beyond
I am happy for your husband. I got my transplant on Deember 4th of 2018. This disease stole all of y twenties. My transplant was my 30th birthday gift. There are still certain struggles with the 'plumming' in my new kidney. But all and all, its better than having to connect to a machine every night.
Thank you for sharing. It's nice to have the support you need to meet the challenges of living with ckd-transplant. My kidney stopped when I was 5 for no apparent cause. My dad gave me my first transplant. Then, after 11 years, I had to be on dialysis (almost 7yrs too). Finally, I had a 2nd transplant from a good friend of ours. It's been almost 9 years in 7/1. Wishing us long kidney health!!
I've been on dialysis for a little over 2 yrs. Started out with hemo than moved to pd. I would rather do pd. I'm getting a transplant on May 29th. with a live donor I had never met before. He responded to my post on facebook. I have had some ups and downs but mostly ups. I did have paritinitis twice. Not fun.
