alimesoda: No. However, fixing bone in transplant receiver can not be so rare, someone must know. If you are asking this community, I think it helpful, that you tell a bit of your story, within your comfort zone, as people tend to respond to person’s experience, not to abstract operation. My husband has a lot of arthritis in his hip and needs a hip replacement but we understand risk of infection is much greater for immunosuppressed transplant patients — my husband received his 2nd kidney transplant last year. We met with an excellent ortho surgeon but he stated elevated infection stats. We would love to hear from others that may have had ortho surgery post transplant. Thank you

I had ORIF surgery for a fractured Humerus 11 months post-transplant with my Txplant Team’s blessing.

Hi yes I have had surgery since transplant

My kidney is 29 years old and I have had back op. Knee replacement hip replacement

Acetabular replacement

And as far as kidney goes he is doing well

I have other problems as well but as said before kidney as been brilliant

I had double hip replacements 35 years out. Had a great surgeon and all turned out well.
