Was on dialysis for 6 years good to get off dialysis as soon as u can, it hatd on ur heart. Was on for 7 years. Than in 2014 At the end of that year i got a transplant from a deceased donor.its now 2019. my kidneys were polycystic so they had to take both old out they weighed 15 pounds a piece. My new kidney had some issues the uriter kept closeing up so ive had stents few times also had Nephrostomy tube goes into ur kidney drains a stent at the end of it . Ive had my ups and downs, had sepsis a few time, lots of UTIS , for months now not had issues with my kidney, the last stent they took out the last stent worked well Because I've been great . U have issues or u don't just keep going don't give up. Had my kidney for 5 years so happy. I have 2 grand kids i get to enjoy and my daughter and all the rest of my family these are the thing important to me. I even was out planting flowers. Life is good just listen to ur doctors

AMEN! You said it all. Sorry you had so many issues following your transplant, but so happy you are doing well now! I had my transplant in 1999 - so in October it will be 20 years! I have been blesses to see both of my daughters marry and now have 2 little buddies to spoil. I love being a grandma.

No problems with my new kidney, but have a hernia repaired twice in transplant incision. I was on hemodialysis for a short time before my transplant. Have had to have the fistula removed from my arm due to scar tissue & pressure on the nerves.

Life is good! My husband and I have been doing a lot of traveling and are looking forward to our Hawaiian vacation next month.
