I just got on a transplant list. I'm not on dialysis yet and hope to find a live donor. My family is not able to donate. I'm very concerned on if I will be able to get the word out to see if I can get someone to help me. Everyone you tell they say they are sorry you are going thru this and they say a prayer but what I need is that kidney. I'm A+ and would love to have more suggestions on how to find one. So far I've gone on facebook to friends. I'm excited about this site and feel it will help me cope with all of this. Talking or reading about people that know what it's like is good to know.

The NKF wrote this article last month about my search for a living donor. Basically, you tell everyone you know of your need - church, work, clubs, friends....... Remember this is your life and your health and you need to do everything you can to have the best life possible.

I was on the transplant list for about a year and not on dialysis, when I got a donor from the list. This was in 2015 and my transplant kidney has been working well. I trust you will get a kidney in due time. My best to you.
