Hi, I had my transplant on Nov. 4, 2015 and received my new kidney from an altruistic donor that I met on the internet. She is my angel. I am now 69 years old and had kidney cancer (fully self-contained; no chemo or radiation) about 20 yrs. ago. Five years after that my right kidney started to every so slowly decline; took over 17 yrs. where I then got to the point of having to go on dialysis for only 8 months while I waited for my new kidney. I am truly blessed and living a really fully and bountiful life. I am on the NFK Advocacy Committee and getting actively involved with my local chapter of NFK.

Love your story Mary. I celebrate you and your blessed best life. Hip Hip Hooray to our angel altruistic donors. I am a preemptive live-donor kidney transplant recipient, peer mentor and KAC member too. I also wrote a book on how to help individuals find living kidney donors. Your story touches heartstrings and speaks volumes to all those in need. Continued blessings, Risa
