I would donate all over again!

Hello,

Today, I joined the living donor community. I want to be an advocate for those donating and for those whose loved one is considering donation. My surgery was September 2021. The recipient is the sister of a dear friend. I only met his sister once, but we are now friends for life! My recovery was pretty quick (3 days after getting out of the hospital and I stopped taking pain medication). My surgeon moved up my work release from 4 weeks to 3 weeks.

I've only had to make slight adjustments to my diet: less salt and less protein. Otherwise, I live my life the same way except for knowing that I was able to save a life and grateful for a healthy internal system.

If I can be an encouragement to anyone, please let me know. 🥰
