How can I request more people to consider donating a kidney to me. I have a lot of life to live yet: 2 grown grand children who have a total of 5 children and two teenage grandchildren. This makes a total of 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I want to be part of their lives as they continue to mature. I was a teacher and much to offer to them. My wife and I have been married for 56 years (57 in September). I don't want to leave her early! Please consider donating a kidney to me. If your health doesn't permit you to, please tell everyone you know - work associates, friends, church members, posting on your social media accounts, and to club members you are members of. Please help me!!

A lot of people turn to social media and even their community/religious groups to spread awareness these days. Asking someone to be a live donor is never an easy task but you you want to make as many people aware as possible that living donation is your best option fighting kidney failure. You can reach out to your local newspaper about posting an ad. You can maybe order customized masks or shirts with your contact info and a short message about needing a living donor. Anything to bring awareness to someone who is considering donation.

HiIs there anyone in your own family willing to donate? Your kids? Or your extended family? You don’t mention f they’ve been ruled out. I’m 64 and donated to my 30 yr old son six months ago. Are you on dialysis?

Our daughter was disqualified because she has had kidney stones in the past. They said based on her tests, she was a high risk for that. We don't have any others eligible. We have posted on FB, churches, all our friends. I'm not on dialysis yet, but I'm in the teens on my numbers.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I agree with the other 2 replies already - social media is wonderful as are newspaper ads, billboards, signs on cars and in Supermarkets. I'll "Assume" that your children and grandchildren might be willing to help out by posting on THEIR social media accounts as well. Remember, YOUR STORY told by word of mouth could help a lot too. Tell EVERYONE you meet - the bank, grocery store, doctors offices and more...

Are you working with a transplant center (hospital that performs transplants)? You should be on the national kidney waitlist ... check out the National Kidney Registry and the National Kidney Foundation websites for information.

Good luck in your search.
