Hi, I'm reading about the back pain post-surgery. I'm donating in 2 weeks to my son. I'm 64 and he's 30. I'd to see a chiropractor as my lower back seized last week and my pelvis is out of alignment. I've not told my transplant team as I need the op to proceed. Any advice at all? Thanks.

Donating my kidney to my son in 2 weeks time...
Congratulations on becoming your son's hero for donating a kidney to him! I'm not a doctor, but surgery should not have anything to do with any back pain. The pain you "MIGHT" experience post op is usually around the incisions (duh), but also likely from the gas in your abdominal cavity..... at least that was my experience! Wishing you both the best of luck!
Post again to let us know how well things went!!
Hi Sophieskye! Congratulations snd welcome to the one kidney club!! I hope you and your son are recovering swiftly. My recovery was quick and ge only pain was gas pains in my shoulders. I found constant heating packs were extremely helpful and very small portions of food.
Wishing all the best to you and your son!!
You have given your son a very generous gift!
