Donating requirements??

Hi I am Jamie. I am healthy except for a neck fusion which left me on painkillers. I am very interested in donating. Does this affect my chances of donating??? Thank you

Different centers have variations in their requirements. They all have open classes to explain the process and allow you to ask questions. Or you can ask to talk with a living donor coordinator. Thanks for thinking about this. I was a donor in 2015. Would do it again if I could.

Hi Jamie! You are to be commended for wanting to help someone in need. I do not believe you would be disqualified for the issue you mentioned, though you need to inquire about the medication you are on with the transplant center. I'm not a doctor, but I donated back in 2009. I doubt it, I can't say for sure. The University of MN is a world leader in kidney transplants and their website might have helpful information.
