I have had 2stokes both hospitalised as found unconscious since then I've been admitted again to hospital unconscious, where I was found to have CKDI was in hospital 3wks and also had uti for months been seen by many others to see why this occurred. At present my bloods are keeping level 21%,and hospital is happy with me

My question is how long does it take to be needing a kidney transplant or dialysis .I don't have any other contact with anyone else ,am I panicking too much ,I feel ok ,apart from I do t sleep well and my diet is not good

Any suggestions welcome ,I keep reading everything I see

so sorry that you had a stroke prayer for your healing. As to be on the list your EFGR kitty function has to be 20% or lower and it depends which Transplant Center you were at have age limits like the one Transplant Center list I’m on 71 is the cut off age. The other Transplant Center I am on they have no age limit and you do how to get an evaluation to be put on the transplant list. You have to have labs and some other tests and I have to do those yearly like an echo . I did not go on dialysis until I had 8% kidney function going On dialysis depends how your body feels. That your body can build up toxins and you don’t want that. You will know if that’s happening and you will really not feel good. My doctor wanted me to be on dialysis before I started feeling that way at 8%. I still felt OK. but he was afraid that it could so he says before the toxin Built up let’s get you on dialysis.

Thankyou for sharing your experience ,I feel fine ,blood pressure is up and down ,but blood tests have stayed at 20 -21% and consultant tells me I'm doing fine ,diabetes is also stable .I went to my local centre where they do treatment on dialysis the impression I got was I was too old 74this April, and dialysis was only option ,since reading all these different opinions I'm confused .I also looked at some herbal treatments ,drops that you put on your tongue before eating ,one Dr said it was ok,herbal on further reading on here it was mentioned not to take herbal treatments, help what is the true treatments to use, if anything ,USA use these drops

I don’t know where in USA I’m in Virginia my closest transplant told me cut off 61 I’m 68 VCU in Richmond told me no age limit they just did an 84 year old they look at health of person not age

Please be carry if you do any herbal watch your diet and excercise is most important My labs were great and one year they drop suddenly and I told myself I always felt good but you get use to your new normal you can be on transplant list at 20 percent I was I was trying to get a kidney before I went on dialysis but my kidney disease is inherited polycystic kidney so I knew it would countinue going down in function . Best of luck to you you can be listed on more then one transplant list if it what you really want check in other states too

Thankyou for your reply ,I may look into the centre I'm with I'm feeling fine ,but I have had 2strokes and have osteo arthritis ,Scoliosis in my back maybe this is why I wasn't asked about requesting transplant !!!!
