Are there any resources that can help someone on Dialysis get a Job? I graduated college about a year ago and have yet to find gainful employment.

I am so sorry life is really hard at your young age. I hope there is a real miracle in your future. Now to your job situation. What is it you want to do and or trained or skilled in? What do you see yourself doing. Are you doing home hemo and can work around a certain schedule? Or at incenter? Can you do remote and if so, what are the opportunities for that? I would highly suggest that you contact a local headhunter or job center just to get some personal help. Is there a local NFK who might be able to assist you? Also, look at their website. They had job openings on it.

Social worker would be the first one to ask for assistance. Secondary would be your state vocational rehabilitation center. LinkedIn and several other sites also offer assistance. Blessings

Definitely contact your State Vocational Rehabilitation agency. Their main goal is to aid people with employment handicaps secure jobs. The agencies in each State differs slightly in how or what they do, but their main goal is to provide employment assistance. Good luck. You sound as if you'd be a good candidate for assistance.

This is hard to hear...everyone deserve to have a good job! The US Department of Labor has an interest in those with "disabilities" and has passed laws in that area. That organization also provides funding for the American Job Centers (AJCs) that provide free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment-related needs - they're located through the nation. Some colleges actually have AJCs located on campuses You may want to pay a visit to one of those centers and ask one of their trained career counsellors for support and direction. They're amazing people; they may well know of positions reserved for those with physical limitations and more. They match your knowledge, skills, and abilities to the proper jobs. Where needed, they have funds to supplement your resume with training leading perhaps to certifications, and more. Pay them a visit. A good number of people on dialysis are employed in good careers. You can be one of those too!

What difficulties you are having? You don't have to necessarily disclose you are on dialysis. Are you not applying in the first place because of travel or fear they won' t accommodate?

Not what you're looking for?
