Getting over Covid

Hi! So glad to hear that you've put Covid behind you! I didn't see your post until some days later and thought I'd reach out to you - hoping that you're feeling better and that your strength and appetite and more is returning. I can certainly understand your interest in returning back to living your life as well as possible. If you're still struggling regarding foods to eat, perhaps ask your dietitian at your dialysis center to take a quick look at your labs and suggest some easy-to-prepare meals that appeal to you. Perhaps she can offer you suggestions re drinks as well. And, if you're still weak and don't want to make things yourself right now, perhaps ask her for some ideas regarding kidney friendly prepared meals that you can quickly defrost and heat up. I believe Lean Cuisine may have some entrées that can work for those on dialysis. I truly you'll have your appetite and energy back soon - and "loving some flowers". Hugs!
Glad your COVID is over, and can related to the protein intake struggle. Has your iron level been p
Hi Tissybell. My hubby has gone through kidney failure, then HD, then PD and finally a transplant. He has avoided getting Covid, but his iron levels, particularly on dialysis, were problematic - he needed EPO treatments regularly, etc. And he also needed to increase his protein intake. His transplant (when he was 71 years old) took care of those things, except his diabetes which has worsened. I hope you may get a transplant too. I just know that any major illness or other event (like a bad fall and so on) can really weaken and set you back. So wanted to send you a little encouragement to keep moving forward, even if it means turning to prepared meals - from a store, a restaurant, etc. Take one step at a time. Sending you plenty of hugs!
Been checked lately? Anemia can cause the symptoms you are having . Low food esp. protein can worsen things. Welcome to the group! You will enjoy it and learn a lot, esp. from the detailed and humorous PD journey from Ronzone and others. We are all here for you. Sorry about losing your son. This is the hardest kind of grief. But read on and enjoy...
